Frances Rowbottom (she/her) is an American Literature PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on William Faulkner and the various legacies of the American South. She enjoys volunteering for literary events, and teaching Edinburgh’s student community.
Grace Balfour-Harle (she/her) is the Content Producer for the world-famous Beano comic and Co-Chair of SYP Scotland. She is an IM of the CIEP, and won a Print Futures Award from The Printing Charity in 2020.
Susie Butler (she/her) is the Assistant Editor for Literary Studies at Edinburgh University Press. She gained a Publishing MA from UCL. Before her current role, she worked in various areas of the book trade industry including publicity, marketing and distribution.
Sonali Misra (she/her) is an Indian author & PhD Researcher in Publishing Studies at the University of Stirling. She is Co-founder of The Selkie & Co-chair of SYP Scotland. She has previously worked in editorial & product (sales) roles at Scholastic & Hachette in India.
Charlotte Horsman (she/her) is studying the postgraduate MSc in Publishing at Edinburgh Napier University and works as a freelance events assistant. Before this she worked in international arts festivals for several years and has always been a book lover.
Averie Watson (they/them) is an admin and production associate at Kugali and a freelance writer at Comic Book Resources. Before their current role, they were an SYP Scotland mentee, an MLitt Publishing Studies student and an intern at Luath Press and Oldcastle Books.
Sinéad Whelan (she/her) is a recent graduate of MSc Publishing. She was part of the editorial team for the upcoming Napier Big Read and is at the beginning of her career in the industry.
Aoife Lanigan (she/her) is a MSc Publishing student at Edinburgh Napier University. Before starting the course, she taught English as a second language in South Korea. She is also a mentee on the mentorship program SYP Ireland and a secretary for the newly established Napier Book Club.
Hayley Cadel (she/her) is currently studying the Publishing MSc at Edinburgh Napier University.
Ella Murphy (she/her) is an English Language and Linguistics graduate from the University of Glasgow. She now works in administration. Before her current role, she worked on several thesaurus projects for the University of Glasgow and Oxford University Press.
Léa Berdeaux (she/her) is studying MSc Publishing at Edinburgh Napier University. Before moving to Scotland, she graduated with a BA in Art History and a Digital Publishing Masters in France where she worked in bookselling and editorial.
Emma Walton (she/her) is a Team Manager at HarperCollins Publishers. Emma works in distribution and specialises in Customs and Brexit procedures. As well as her week-day job, Emma is a classical singer, working regularly both internationally and closer to home.
Jennifer McDowall (she/her) is currently an MLitt Publishing student at the University of Stirling. Prior to her interest in the publishing world and return to student life, she worked as a research scientist.
Beth Ralston (she/her) is a Freelance Copywriter and recent Publishing graduate from Edinburgh Napier. In her spare time, she is Treasurer for SYP Scotland, Editor for Continue The Voice… and completely obsessed with speculative fiction.
