The Society of Young Publishers Scotland proudly presents its spring conference...

Ctrl Alt Refresh

This year, we’re reflecting on how vastly different 2020 turned out compared to what we had envisioned only a year ago. Just as the rest of the world had to adapt to working under new and unfamiliar circumstances, the publishing industry was forced into a year of rapid change and continuous challenges.

In our first-ever virtual conference, SYP Scotland is committed to bringing you a two-day vibrant and immersive experience as we reflect on the year that has passed, the lessons learnt and, most importantly, where we go from here.

With inspiring speakers from various points in their careers, our panels explore topics such as international collaborations; how to support indie bookshops and small presses; diverse perspectives within publishing; unconventional paths into the industry; adapting industry events to the digital sphere; and accessibility and inclusivity – as we consider how to continue doing better without reverting to our old ways.

The route to publishing's tomorrow may not seem crystal clear right now; yet we move forward. This conference looks at exactly that: how to rework what we know to fit the current moment and prepare for a more inclusive future of publishing, how to overcome adversity with creativity and innovation.

Welcome to Ctrl Alt Refresh.
